1. Bursaries for attending training and conferences about brain injury
Bursaries can be used to pay for the registration fee for conferences and training, the cost of associated travel and/or accommodation.
Conditions
1. Approval of the bursary must be gained from the BISWG Ltd committee in advance. 2. Expenses will be reimbursed on the production of original receipts. (applicants should retain a copy for their own records). 3. Receipts must be accompanied by a brief (approximately 500 words) review of the conference/training for the BISWG website and newsletter. 4. These bursaries are available on a first come first served basis to those in the final year of professional social work training, qualified social workers, and members of BISWG. 5. Applicants are limited to a total of £500 in any one year. This may be applied for as the maximum £500 or as several smaller bursaries. There is no minimum amount. Applicants cannot apply for £500 to cover several courses; each must be an individual application. Note that each application will be treated on a ‘first come first served’ basis. 6. In order to maximise the use of the bursary fund, applicants will be expected to consider cost effective alternatives before claiming for overnight accommodation or peak time fares.
2. Bursaries for presenting at conferences

Acknowledgement of support from BISWG should appear on your presentation (BISWG Ltd logo). Receipts must be accompanied by evidence of acknowledgement of BISWG support. 4. 3. Exceptional Bursaries up to £1000
These bursaries are only available for those presenting at international conferences. Bursaries can be used to pay for the registration fee for presenting oral and/or fringe presentations or workshops at conferences, the cost of associated travel and/or accommodation.

1. Approval of the bursary must be gained from the full BISWG Ltd committee in advance. 2. Expenses will be reimbursed on the production of original receipts. 3. Acknowledgement of support from BISWG should appear on your presentation (BISWG Ltd logo). Original receipts must be accompanied by evidence of acknowledgement of BISWG support and a brief summary of the conference for the website. 4.These bursaries are available on a first come first served basis to those in the final year of professional social work training, qualified social workers and members of BISWG. 5. Only two of these bursaries are available each year and only apply to single events.

If your application is successful you will receive a letter confirming the maximum amount available on production of original receipts and advising you of any other terms and conditions.
