Understanding People Affected by Brain Injury: Practice Guidance for Social Care Team - North West
10am - 3pm Wednesday 15th May 2019
Bridgehall Community Centre, Siddington Avenue, Adswood, Stockport, SK3 8LX

This is a free event for public sector social workers and accompanies our updated practice guidance which was produced in partnership with The British Association of Social Work

We believe that social workers need a better understanding of Acquired Brain Injury in order to serve people well and meet the requirements of legislation.

The workshop aims to:

  • To improve social workers knowledge of Acquired Brain Injury
  • To explore how an understanding of Acquired Brain Injury can improve assessments in relation legislation
  • To help social workers improve their assessment skills by introducing a simple assessment tool – The Brain Injury Needs Indicator (BINI) developed by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust
  • To signpost social workers to sources of further help and information

The workshop will be delivered by a mixture of case studies and discussion and is free of charge to attend.  Refreshments and course materials are included – but places are limited to three places per organisation and we will require an assurance of attendance.

To make a booking please email info@biswg.co.uk and the relevant information will be provided.

This event is kindly sponsored by Potter Rees Dolan
