The Brain Injury Social Work Group (BISWG) is a group for social work professionals and affiliates aiming to raise the standards of social work practice and other relevant specialist services in supporting people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

Incorporation took place on 04.12.09 and BISWG became a company in its own right, BISWG Ltd.  BISWG Ltd became a registered charity in May 2010.

BISWG operates within the field of brain injury, by the provision of seminars, conferences, and forums and the provision of grants to attend educational courses on the subject of brain injury and by any other such means as the trustees may determine.

BISWG actively supports the national debate on increasing specialist knowledge, skills and resources for those with a brain injury and their families and carers.  Members represent the interests of clients on national working groups and organisations and through initiatives in the private, public and voluntary sectors.

BISWG has strong links with legal experts in particular in the fields of personal injury litigation, human rights, community care law and mental health law.
